about

i was on a double drop D kick (it's a guitar tuning). i was really digging "don't let it bring you down". i wrote this one backwards, the guitar and music first then wrote lyrics over top. i've attempted this many of times. i liked the way this one turned out. i think it's kind of about waking up out of your dreams so you can start your ever repetitive line of waking days, you know, the bland plainness of the real world. (...bills, work, school, etc...)

lyrics

i beat myself up everyday
i need to find another way
to drift from dreams into my days
i run away
yeah i run away
i can't paint myself where i want to be
stuck here swinging the axe at the tree
pallet don't got the colors to see
only thing falling in the woods is me
i run away
yeah i run away
but i can't get away
i'm trapped in these dreams
where nothing is as it seems
i beat myself up everyday
i need find another way
to drift from dreams into my days
into my day
into my days
my days my days my days...
